It targets reading, writing, and spelling. Wilson Reading System is also used to target reading, comprehension, and written expression. Individualized plans are created through parent input, teacher input, and assessment. Sessions include 45 minutes of direct therapy and 10 minutes of review with the caregiver.
Social Skills TherapyNOVA Speech and Language Therapy focuses on group therapy sessions that target social skills in individuals with average intelligence and language skills. Groups are created based on age and similar skill level.
Social challenges may include initiating and maintaining conversations, understanding social cues and non-verbal language, perspective taking, problem solving, cognitive flexibility, and controlling impulsive behaviors. We strongly encourage caregivers to utilize the language we teach for increased success and carryover to all aspects of the client's life. |
